A1 to C2 explained plainly: rating languages honestly and proving them.

Fluent means something different to everyone – CEFR levels from A1 to C2 create clarity.

The levels

  • A1–A2: basics – name only when required.
  • B1–B2: independent use – B2 is the most common bar.
  • C1–C2: fluent to native – prove with certificates.

Proving and wording

  • Certificates: TOEFL, IELTS or Goethe with year and score.
  • Practice: working language in a team weighs as much as a certificate.
  • Native tongue: name first, without a level.

Enter languages with levels – the template formats them correctly on its own.
